The hardware and software complex “Unified Transport Model of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region” will be a tool for evaluating decisions in the field of management of transport complexes and transport infrastructure, as well as making decisions on spatial planning in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

"Unified Transport Model of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region" with help of up-to-date information, computing tools and software will allow for:

- collection, processing and storage of transport, socio-economic and urban planning data;

- modeling of the current transport system of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region and future forecasts;

- evaluation of projects for optimization of operation of transport complex, development of transport infrastructure and territorial planning.

Improving quality of transport and territorial planning in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region;

Providing effective interaction of interested organizations and executive bodies of two regions on matters regarding problems of transport and territorial planning;

Assessing and considering mutual influence of decisions on transport and territorial planning for the two regions;

Improving quality, efficiency and reliability of the transport complex management in St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region.
